Why Your Lovable Prompts Are Failing
Most Lovable users type vague prompts and expect magic. The AI is powerful, but it needs structure. After auditing 150+ Lovable apps, we've identified exactly what makes prompts work — and what makes them fail.
The Prompt Structure That Works
Every effective Lovable prompt follows this pattern:
[Context] + [Specific Feature Request] + [Technical Constraints] + [Design Preferences]
Example (Bad):
"Make a login page"
Example (Good):
"Create a login page with email and password fields, a 'Forgot Password' link, and a Google OAuth button. Use Supabase auth. Style it with a centered card on a gradient background. Include form validation and error messages."
15 Proven Prompt Templates
1. Auth Setup
"Set up Supabase authentication with email/password and Google OAuth. Create login, register, and forgot password pages. Use protected routes that redirect unauthenticated users to /login. Style all auth pages consistently."
2. Dashboard Layout
"Create a dashboard layout with a left sidebar navigation and a main content area. The sidebar should collapse on mobile. Include nav items: Dashboard, Projects, Settings, Billing. Use a glass-morphism sidebar style."
3. CRUD with Real-time
"Create a Task entity with fields: title, description, status (todo/in_progress/done), priority (low/medium/high), due_date. Build full CRUD UI with real-time updates. Add drag-and-drop between status columns."
4. Stripe Integration
"Integrate Stripe payments with subscription plans: Starter ($9/mo), Pro ($29/mo), Enterprise ($99/mo). Create a pricing page, checkout flow, and billing management page. Use Stripe Checkout and Customer Portal."
5. File Upload
"Add file upload with drag-and-drop support. Allow images up to 10MB. Show upload progress, preview thumbnails, and a delete button. Store files in Supabase Storage."

The Golden Rule
One feature per prompt. Trying to cram 5 features into one prompt guarantees a messy output. Build incrementally.
