How to Deploy Your Lovable App to Production: Domain, SSL, Env, Checklist

You Built It — Now Launch It

Your Lovable app works locally. But production deployment has its own challenges. Here's the complete deployment checklist.

Pre-Deployment Checklist

Before you hit deploy, verify:

• [ ] All Supabase RLS policies are correct
• [ ] Environment variables are set (no hardcoded keys)
• [ ] Stripe is in live mode (if using payments)
• [ ] Email templates are customized (not Supabase defaults)
• [ ] Error pages exist (404, 500)
• [ ] favicon and meta tags are updated
• [ ] sitemap.xml and robots.txt are configured
• [ ] All links use the production domain

Connecting a Custom Domain

1. Go to your Lovable project settings
2. Add your custom domain (e.g., app.yoursaas.com)
3. Lovable provides DNS records — add them to your domain provider
4. Wait for DNS propagation (5-60 minutes)
5. SSL certificate auto-provisions via Let's Encrypt

Environment Variables

Move these from .env.local to Lovable's production env:

• SUPABASE_URL
• SUPABASE_ANON_KEY
• STRIPE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY
• STRIPE_SECRET_KEY
• Any third-party API keys

Post-Deployment Testing

After going live, immediately test:

1. User registration and login
2. Core user flows (your 3 must-have features)
3. Payment flow (test with a real $1 charge)
4. Mobile responsiveness on actual devices
5. Page load speed (aim for <3 seconds)

Monitoring

Set up basic monitoring:

• Supabase dashboard for database health
• Lovable analytics for traffic
• Uptime monitoring (use UptimeRobot — free)
